Online refresher

EHS has developed an online refresher course and short quiz, particularly seeking an effective way to deliver new information and to re-certify users (including PIs) with minimal time imposition. This refresher has recently become even more important, in light of developments in the application of the Ontario Health and Safety Act, the recent federal Bill C45 regarding liability and the duties of PIs as workplace supervisors, and the new ANSI Z136.1-2007 standard.

Only persons with previous laser safety training can take this online refresher training  Persons without previous laser safety training must participate in the full training. The refresher must be taken every 3 years by all laser users and PIs in charge of the laser laboratories.

The online refresher is delivered using the University’s secure UTORid web login.
